Thank you for choosing rescue and taking the first step toward giving a cat or kitten a loving forever home.
Our Adoption Coordinator will carefully review your application. Please allow 3–5 business days for our volunteer team to respond. There is no need to submit another application while yours is under review.
What Happens Next?
Our Adoptions & Foster Coordinator will carefully review your application.
1. Application Review
We’ll review your application, household information, current pets, landlord approval when applicable, and the cat or kitten you’re interested in.
2. Follow-Up
Our Adoption Coordinator may contact you by phone, text, or email with additional questions. Please check your voicemail, spam folder, and missed messages.
3. Meet & Greet
If your application appears to be a good match, we’ll discuss the cat’s personality and needs and arrange a meet and greet when appropriate.
4. Home Visit
A virtual or in-person home visit is required before final approval. This allows us to confirm that the home is safe and help you prepare for your new family member.
5. Approval & Home Delivery
Once approved, we’ll provide instructions for the adoption fee and schedule home delivery. Your adoption agreement will be signed, and medical and microchip records will be provided at delivery.
Please do not send an adoption fee or make pickup arrangements until instructed by an authorized Give Hope Cat Rescue director.
Important Information

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or reserve a specific cat.

Adoptions are based on the best match for each cat—not the order applications are received.

Renters must have permission to keep a pet in their home.

Some kittens may need time to complete their medical care before going home.

Cats can live 15–20 years or longer, making adoption a lifelong commitment.

Future veterinary care and expenses become the adopter’s responsibility.

If you can no longer care for your adopted cat, the cat must be returned to Give Hope Cat Rescue. Our cats may not be abandoned, surrendered elsewhere, or privately rehomed.

We love staying connected! Adopters are asked to provide yearly photo updates so we can continue seeing our former rescues thrive.
Prepare for Your New Family Member
While your application is being reviewed, you can begin preparing:

A quiet room where your new cat can decompress

A secure cat carrier

Food and water dishes
-
A litter box and litter
-
Scratching posts and appropriate toys

A safe, pet-proof environment
-
A plan for slow introductions to resident pets
Our team and the cat’s foster will provide more specific recommendations before adoption.
Help Us Rescue the Next Cat
Adoption fees cover only part of the medical care and supplies provided to our rescues. If you would like to help another cat receive the same second chance, you can make a donation or send supplies from one of our wishlists.
Donating is completely optional and does not affect the review or approval of your application.
Even $25 helps, and approximately $200 can fully vet one kitten. Give Hope Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and eligible donations are tax-deductible.
